It is an honor to announce that I’ve been selected to speak in 4th PASS BA conference happening May 2016 at San Jose, California. I have to thank all organizers who make this great conference happen for their great work, and also choosing me to participate as a speaker.
About PASS
PASS or Professional Association of SQL Server is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to SQL Server community with HQ in US, but covering SQL Server communities all around the world. I’m sure you’ve been involved in some of PASS activities but you may not be aware that they are part of PASS. Every SQL Saturday happening everywhere in the world is under PASS umbrella, Most of SQL Server or Microsoft BI user groups around the world are PASS Chapters. There are many PASS Chapters, you might have one or even more in your city or at least a city close to it. PASS is leaded by a group of passionate people about SQL Server who wants to serve the SQL Server community to share knowledge, experience, and build a community of technologies who help each other.
PASS Summit is an annual gathering of members of this community, every year almost 6000 people from more than 55 countries attend at this great conference. The quality of sessions and level of knowledge, experience, and skill set of speakers in this conference is very high. I’ve been honored to speak in PASS Summit 3 years in a row, and I look forward for future summits.

About My Session
Title: Data Preparation is the Keystone
Description:
Prepare to be amazed with what you can achieve using Power Query in this demo-heavy session. Power Query is the data extraction, transformation, and mash up tool. It can be accessed through Excel or from Power BI Desktop. There are numerous data transformation features that can be used to solve real-world data preparation challenges.
We will use customer case studies to go through scenarios of preparing data for modelling, and visualization. You will learn how to use features of Power Query such as generators, custom functions, and lots of built-in functions to solve those scenarios. You will also learn some data preparation techniques through Excel itself.
