Power BI Now Available Worldwide

December last year Power BI with new great features was announced to be only available for United States. Recently Microsoft announced that Power BI is now available worldwide (Preview yet), which is great news.

In this post I would like to share some facts about Power BI;

Power BI is cloud BI service of Microsoft.

Power BI has five main components below;

1. Power Query; To query data from wide range of sources, transform it, and load into a model.
2. Power Pivot; To Model the data into high performance information provider star schema data set.
3. Power View; To visualize data with interactive dashboards, graphs, and charts.
4. Power Map; To visualize geo-spatial data in 3D way.
5. Power Q&A; As a natural language engine to answer questions about the model.

Power BI can connect to wide range of data sources.
