this post is mainly about the conference that we organized in February 2018.

When normally Happen: February

Difinity Conference: Is a Microsoft Data Platform Conference in New Zealand, Auckland that has been held in 2017 and 2018.

3 days conference, one day workshop and 2 days sessions.  the conference covers topic such as Power BI and BI, Advanced Analytics, SQL Admin and SQL Dev.

Who is the main Organizer: Leila Etaati and Reza Rad

Who Spoke: we have 12 speakers from Microsoft New Zealand, USA, Singapore, Australia, and Denmark. 19 MVPs from all around the world.

Day One (12th February)

Day one is the Pre-con day, This year we had 8 Pre cons on Power BI topics, Advanced Analytics, SQL Dev and SQL Admin.

Totally 100 people attended on day one from different companies around New Zealand.

Siva Harinath from Microsoft Headquarter presented a workshop on Data Modeling and Data Visualization using Power BI

Sergei Gundorov from Microsoft Headquarter presented a workshop on Power BI for Developers and Programmers

Reza Rad from RADACAD in New Zealand run a workshop on Ultimate Architecture, Security, Sharing, and Governance for Power BI Solution

Leila Etaati from RADACAD in New Zealand present a workshop on Analytics and Machine Learning with Power BI and R

Regis Baccaro and Kenneth present a pre-conference on Agile Data warehouse design with BIML

and finally, Matt Arlington talk about the Demystifying the DAX Language

Day two and three (13th and 14th February )

Difinity sessions started with keynote speakers from Microsoft New Zealand and the USA

the number of attendees changed from 2017 to 2018 as below

in 2017 144 people attended while in 2018, 198 people attended.

We have great and constructive feedback from people, most of the people were happy with the content and level of sessions. Thanks to all speakers and our Data Platform community.

Leila Etaati

Leila is the first Microsoft AI MVP in New Zealand and Australia, She has Ph.D. in Information System from the University Of Auckland. She is the Co-director and data scientist in RADACAD Company with more than 100 clients in around the world. She is the co-organizer of Microsoft Business Intelligence and Power BI Use group (meetup) in Auckland with more than 1200 members, She is the co-organizer of three main conferences in Auckland: SQL Saturday Auckland (2015 till now) with more than 400 registrations, Difinity (2017 till now) with more than 200 registrations and Global AI Bootcamp 2018. She is a Data Scientist, BI Consultant, Trainer, and Speaker. She is a well-known International Speakers to many conferences such as Microsoft ignite, SQL pass, Data Platform Summit, SQL Saturday, Power BI world Tour and so forth in Europe, USA, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. She has over ten years’ experience working with databases and software systems. She was involved in many large-scale projects for big-sized companies. She also AI and Data Platform Microsoft MVP. Leila is an active Technical Microsoft AI blogger for RADACAD.
